The quiter you become the more you can hear

Disa treaded silently along the baae of the mountains she had recently crossed. Her paws were silent against the snow covered base. Her pale coat could almost blend with the shadowy vale of trees, however she was not so pure as to have the honor of sporting a coat of ebony. A fact that had always appealed to her own curious nature.

She would pause to drink from a small creek. Barely noticeable had she not been looking. The cold liquid graced her lips, stroking and slaking the thirst that plagued her. She shivered as she slowly lifted her head, running her tongue across her muzzle to clean away any such remaining pesky water droplets. Bi-colored irises would rake across the surrounding terrain. Searching for any resident wolves. When she saw nothing she made her way forth once again. The silence that palpitated the air, was comforting. It meant she was alone. After another mile of traveling she would seek out a high set rock, which poised at the base of the mountain. She had heard stories of it, but today she would enter these lands with an open mind. At 5 years old, nothing could surprise the woman anymore. She had been through the gates of hell and exited the other side, by the will of mother nature.

Lowering herself to her belly she would gaze into the sky. Her mind turning to her mentor, Freya. A twinge of sadness would pierce her breast and she would offer a bow toward the mooned sky. f you are listening mother, please send Freya my love and respects she would think. As if to answer her prayer, a star streaked across the sky. A smile would gently take the womans maw, before another would streak across. Then another, and another. She would rise to her paws eyes fixated upon the beautiful, array before her. Stars, seemed to fall like rain. The cocophany of colors forming a gorgeous painting of hues across the void of time and space. make a wish, little Disa, you never know when mother nature will answer your prayers Freya had told her the first time she had seen a shooting star. Closing her eyes, the she-wolf would put her heart into her wish. Mother, if you would be so kind as to grant me good fortune, upon entrance into your lands, it is my wish to serve as your sword, and wash the tainted from your humble terrain. she would open her eyes and smile. A feeling of energy basked across the woman. Leaping forth unto expertly positioned paws, Disa would take off running, allowing her legs to guide her to where she needed to be.

Winter never relents

Though this mountain is not as treacherous as the ones to the north, it still holds its dangers. Especially for a wolf who has not traversed this mountain before. Suddenly, the winds begin to moan and the skies darken with grey clouds. Snow and ice fall from the skies at a rapid pace, until it becomes too difficult for anyone to see a few feet in front of them. There is no point in traveling now. Perhaps, it would be wise, to seek shelter from the storm?

The weather quickly turned rough. Disa was forced to slow her trek and as the blew against her. Her eyes narrowed into slits trying to see in front of her. She was failing miserably. She was forced to pause. She needed to find someone. Anyone. Struggling she would slowly lift her head and howl to the heavens. The soprano vocals would pierce the wind and she hoped it would carry. 'Please mother. Guide me through this storm.' she thought as she struggled on, her thick fur billowing about her frame.

Blackened paw pads disappeared into the soft snowy slopes of the one mountain that the male had chosen to climb, head pulled down to fight against the chilly wind that never rested for any soul. This weather was all the foreigner needed, the burning cold was all that was needed to feel as though the whole world was alive for him, and him alone. Thick coat helped fight the dangers of such weather, though it was a curse during the hotter days of the wretched season known as Summer. The darkness of the night provided extra cover for the already darkened body, grey soot and charcoal cloaked along his whole body. Heterochromia eyes were the only things that could possibly be seen illuminating simply due to the moon's light that bore down and attempted to warm the cold lands. There was a war brewing between the two, though both did the same thing - burn. Fire burned. Ice burned. But this would only happen if the adrenaline of a warrior kicked in, and now wasn't the time to waste such energy on something that could not be defeated. Weather was unpredictable and could never be tamed.

The weather must have heard the foreigner's thoughts, because it suddenly grew angry, screaming harshly in his face and ears. No, that was not the weather that was heard. Audits flickered, listening to a distant call for help from another fellow wolf. There was a desire to investigate and after what seemed like 15 minutes, a shadow in the distance was seen. Snow particles blew and blew, blinding any soul who was caught in it. Eyes narrowed in attempts to de-blur the figure, but it was useless. He would need to get closer, and as he did, the man barked out with an accented tone, "Shut the fuck up. Howling in the middle of this place will get you killed, and it's annoying." Finally, Ryurik stood in front of the seemingly distraught girl, glancing down into her mismatched eyes. It was rather odd to see another stranger up here in the mountains, but the larger male wasn't against meeting a new wolf once in awhile. Regardless, she was stupid for making a loud ruckus. Avalanches were a real thing, and dangerous.

Disa eyes would finally find solace as another wolf appeared. His eyes squinted much like her own. His charcoal and flint fur flickering in the bombarding winds. His words made her eyes narrow, however she pretended to lay her ears back subserviantly. She shivered outwardly feighning chill. She lowered her head and looked around before fixing him with a look that feighned fear and worry. She would attempt to move closer and stand neside him leaning her shoulder against his as if she were sharing body heat. She would keeo her head low and ears back, even going so far as to make a show of tucking her tail to appear submissive and obedient. All the while within her mind she hummed humorously at herself and how weak and fragile she must appear. A mute female with long muscular legs and a curvaceous body, with, in her own opinion, gorgeous dark chocolate fur and bi-colored eyes that murned in a reverse mirror to the males. She wondered how he would respond to such a "subserviant and obedient" little she-wolf. All the while her chin would duck down to brush against the gator skin pouch behind her right elbow which brushed against his side as she attempted closer contact keeping her belly close to the ground.

The girl had begun to act rather strange, submissive, cowardly... it was disgusting. There were no words spoken as shoulders touched, tail tucked cleanly against her belly in attempts to display complete and utter consent for the male to do whatever he chose to. Bi-colored eyes tilted to the side, glancing at the brown face of the female silently. The weather hadn't eased up on either of them, snow still stinging his face, causing him to narrow his eyes further. A strange item was found after a further quick observation, the item made of some sort of animal hide, a large strip of it pulled around her back, which he presumed was a way to keep it near her side. After a few seconds were given to study this strange behavior, teeth suddenly were unsheathed, a deep growl bellowing from within the throat, "Why are you acting this way? It's weird."

Yes, it was weird to him anyway. The wolves of his old pack were born warriors, fierce and merciless. No one ever showed their weaknesses if they could help it, though there was an understanding that even the toughest of soldiers could sometimes fall from their emotions. Was she one of those fallen ones? The wind picked up even more so. It was enough for the foreigner, the man spitting out roughly, "Let's go. We need to find shelter." Muscular legs moved through the snow with ease, though it was the storm that made it more difficult. Head lowered to fight against it, unsure of whether the female was going to follow. Eyes scanned what little view he could see ahead of him, noticing a large shadow to the left - a cliffside, and perhaps there would be some crevice that they could squeeze into to wait out the storm.

Disa lowered her head further, and laid her ears back. She laughed internally at how he acted as if she was strange. All the better for her. He truly thought she was a submissive female. She would follow keeping close to his side. She saw the same cliff side he did. She would glance at him before using her smaller, more agile frame to her advantage. Sinking lower so that her belly brushed the surface of the snow, she moved with cat like adherence. Her frame minimized to prevent the wind from catching. The only evidence of her presence was the soft clink of the wolf teeth around her neck. She would pause making sure to eye the male with a simple look that said follow me before leading him to the base. Along the bottom edge, she would press against the cliff. She moved quickly finally an opening revealing itself in the storm. She would slip inside and shake herself free of and snow before venturing further inward. Eyes alert as her ear shot forward and her tail held poised behind her as she moved with stealth scenting the area.

The cavern was small. Small icicles revealing themselves along the walls. The floor clean and smooth. Another had been here but long left. Another pack if her nose was correct. She found an old nesting area. Leaves, hides and dirt making up a rather dry area. Opposite the small sleeping arrangment was a small pool. About mid leg upon her. She looked toward the entrance to see if the male had yet made an appearance before comtinuing her investigation. A small trickled could be heard, replenishing the pool. Providing fresh water. Disa nodded her approval and slaled her thirst from the water waiting her companion to join her, no longer the submissive little pup she had pretended to be.

The chocolate girl went on ahead a little, her body low to the ground, something that the man saw as strange, though there must have been an internal reason for it - safety from the winds? It was rather pathetic as the Russian allowed the strong winds to blind him without complaining or attempting to hide from it. This was the strength of the bloodlines that came from the north. Seeing this stranger disappear made the larger male move forward to follow, bi-colored orbs glancing into the hole that she had slithered into rather easily. With a loud groan, head lowered and body attempted to squeeze into the crevice, legs attempting to push his thick body through. It was difficult, but with a little bit of strength, Ryurik found himself within the small cave, head having to stay a little low to avoid hitting the sharp rocks and icicles above.

Once he had crawled deeper in, the cave appeared bigger and the two could move freely though it was still cramped in some sense. There happened to be a random unfrozen pool of water, to which the brown girl had already helped herself to. Muscular legs moved the Russian forward and stopped a few feet behind her, still holding an expression of annoyance, yet still with some curiousity. Who was this woman? Rump found the floor and maw pulled back into a yawn, audits flickering to the sound of the strong wind trying to reach them from within. "Interesting place..." murmured the man, eyes now looking up to the ceiling. Although he had sit down, his body never relaxed with the seemingly submissive dame. "Who are you anyway?" He grumbled unpleasantly. The storm could take hours to die down so it was best to get to know the company that was going to share the cave with him.
